Your brother asked me about this when I had to get his assistance opening our ancient dishwasher. I’m not sure what I said at the time, but it was probably rude. There’s only a 50% chance he’s being sarcastic when he asks such things.
So, after 50% pondering, I might have an answer. Why would someone spend time and money to maintain fingernails that would make every button or zipper an adventure? Why would they suffer to look good, to do everything gently and somewhat sideways?
Because it’s inherently feminine, that’s why. Gently and sideways.
